......The Katalina II six-storey condominium project is to be built on more than 1,500 square metres of land off Soi-1 along Pratumnak Road.
The 42 units will be a short walk to Pattaya’s exclusive Cosy Beach in an area some describe as the “Hollywood” of Pattaya.
The development is close to the very busy business and entertainment centre of South Pattaya on the northern side of Pratumnak Hill, while to the south lies Jomtien Beach, so the location is all that buyers could desire.
Katalina II is the work of four European developers, Albert De Wilde, Tony Rogge, Philippe Versavel and Gert Logghe, all coming from Belgian and each of whom has wide experience in the housing industry.
French-style
The three decided that quality was the key, and planned something new in Thailand in the form of Normandic French-style one- and two-bedroom apartments, ranging from 62-164 sq m.
Features include sea views (from the third floor upwards), a communal pool, underground parking, fitness centre, 24-hour security and overall TV surveillance, while each condo owner has a private Jacuzzi, cable TV, internet, and plenty of built-in closets for personal storage.
With Albert’s years of interior furnishings experience (for 15 years and owned an interior furnishing and décor factory in Vietnam) we observed that the lighting was nothing short of superb, and likewise the overall interior design left little to be desired.
All the partners had been involved in Katalina I, which was successfully completed last year.
Market change
After this they perceived a change in the market. Serious investors and home-owners now want the best in terms of both quality and location, with the price being somewhat just a secondary concern, they feel.
We were impressed with the new executive-style bathroom, with parallel “his and hers” basins adjacent to a Jacuzzi with a glass partition. Behind a tiled wall at the end of these, the shower is accessible from both sides.
However, there is much more to these condominiums than the bathrooms, as most of the single level units have broken away from the monotony of rectangular designs, to offer breathtakingly different layouts.
Ahead of its time
These will absolutely delight
their new owners, and reveal what can be done with modern European ‘avant garde’ architecture that often appears
to be ahead of its time.
Prices at Katalina II range from Bt4.7m to around Bt14.6m, but for “early bird” purchasers, there are some sizeable early purchase discounts being offered.
For example, a 3rd floor sea-view, two-bedroom residence is discounted from about Bt12m down to Bt10m. Ω
