......The names of housing projects sometimes owe more to the imagination than the reality, but with Dhewee Pool Villas at Bang Saray you will get what you expect – a nice villa-style home with a pool outback on each of the 44 plots, writes John Davids.
The developer’s advertising talks of resort-style living and it’s not difficult to see why they make that claim.
The villas are spacious and airy with much of the focus on the pool area. Indeed, in the two-bedroom villas every room faces out onto the large 8x4 metre pool through patio doors. Imagine glass running virtually the entire width of the back of your house. It’s quite a sight.
In the bigger, three-bedroom villas one of the bedrooms does not open out on the pool area, but everything else does.
Waterfall and sun deck
The pools are important, but Dhewee doesn’t stop there. The smaller (Type A) two-bedroom properties have a Sala on one side of the pool with a waterfall on the other. On the far side furthest away from the villa is a big sun deck area perfect for catching the rays.
The Type B three-bedroom properties have all of the above but in addition they will have a pavillion housing a Jacuzzi, sauna and a rest (or massage) area. There is also room to park a second car.
The biggest of the properties (Type C) will pretty much mimic Style B except for the shape of its pool. However, there is one major difference. It will have a separate, additional pavillion containing two extra guest bedrooms, both with en suite bathrooms, and an exercise room where gym equipment can be sited. It’s a lot of property and plot sizes on all types are generous.
En suite bathrooms to the main bedrooms are big with changing areas included. There is no feeling of being cramped anywhere in these homes.
“We want to give everyone a feeling of space,” said Yotskul Skulragkwamsuk, the marketing manager for developers, Perfect Home Resort Co Ltd.
Perfect Home are the people behind the nearby successful Dhewee Park development where, at time of writing, just one plot of the 66 remained to be sold.
Khun Yotskul continued: “Pool Villas is being built on land similar in size to Dhewee Park but here we decided to build fewer, more up-market homes.”
Privacy and security are big considerations at Dhewee Pool Villas.
A stone-build wall surrounds the entire village – the type where each stone is laid individually – and one can only wince at the thought of how much time it must have taken to build it. But it looks very attractive it must be said. The villas will have the same stone walls around them, too.
On top of the outer wall lies a continuous cable sending out a photobeam which, if broken, will alert the security guards.
Also, each house will have a security alarm fitted to points of access to form a second line of defence.
“There will be just one gate entrance to the village,” said Yotskul, “and we will have two security people here around the clock.”
Dhewee Pool lies just a little way off the Sukhumvit – far enough to cut out traffic noise – and is currently surrounded by countryside.
Golf courses
“This village will offer quiet privacy,” said Yotskul. “It is perfect for people who want to be at one with nature, yet the Bang Saray beach is just two kilometres away and there is no shortage of golf courses in the surrounding area.
“People who want to get away from the traffic and noise of Pattaya can be at peace here.” Ω
