An understanding of what the customer wants and the ability to provide it are key reasons why Matrix have every confidence that their latest low-rise resort, Amazon Residence, will be a runaway success, writes Dave Buckley.
“You only have to look at what we have completed and already sold to be convinced that we know what we are doing,” said Julian Stanley who is project manager for the well-established development group.
“Look at Park Lane and Paradise Park,” he said. “We have a history of delivering great condominiums in good locations and at reasonable prices – especially in Jomtien.”
A few years back Matrix (or Iguana as it was then) took the time and the trouble to research the market and the response they got was that people wanted to buy “ready to move in” fully-furnished units for around Bt1m.
Since then the company have turned the well-equipped, low-cost resort into something of an art form.
“I want to get across to your readers a sense of ‘you’ve seen the rest, now buy the best’,” said Julian.
“Yes that was a great advertising slogan,” I replied. “What product was it for?”
We looked at each other, but no answer came. “Maybe not such a good slogan if we can’t remember,” I mumbled.
Completed developments
But I understood the message Julian was conveying. When it comes to developing resorts in the Jomtien area Matrix knows the score. They can point to completed developments that bear testimony to their ability to live up to their own slogan: “We deliver our promises.”
Julian added: “We were in at the beginning in terms of building this style of resort in the Jomtien area. And with the Amazon Residence we will be drawing heavily on the experience we gained with Park Lane and Paradise Park.”
Prices at the Amazon range from Bt1m to Bt2.25m, with unit sizes varying from 35 sqm to 41 sqm. As is the norm with Matrix it is, of course, possible to combine units to give two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
“All units are fully furnished and with air-conds,” said Julian. “That’s pretty much our standard offering now. And we use quality materials to ensure we have contented customers.”
The supplied furnishing incorporates a sofa bed which makes it easier for guests to stay.
But the stand-out feature at the Amazon Residence is the three-level lagoon-style swimming pool which stretches to 2,422 sqm.
“We believe it’s 22 sqm larger than the next biggest,” said Julian with a laugh suggesting that he realised that the extra wasn’t such a big deal. “Whichever way you look at it, that’s a very big pool.”
The pool will be enhanced with waterfalls, fountains, whirlpool baths, sandy beaches and sun-decks under palm trees.
Latest technologies
There will be a lush sub-tropical courtyard bordering the pool and the whole resort will be a combination of modern design using the latest technologies.
The Amazon will be close to Park Land and Paradise Park which means it is just 800 metres away from Jomtien Beach.
Julian concluded: “We offer realistic and flexible payment plans and unbeatable value for money. A lot of our buyers are real end users, but, because it is a great project in a perfect location, the Amazon offers excellent investment potential. We feel that returns of between 8-10 per cent should be easily achievable.” Ω
