Anyone driving around the city on a regular basis can’t have missed The Koral name. If you haven’t seen it, you need to relax at the wheel and look around a bit more ... because The Koral seems to be everywhere, writes Dave Buckley.
The project is big and bold with 1,572 units planned. That is a lot of units in a low-rise, eight-storey project and they will be contained in eight buildings.
The site can be found on Soi Chaiyapruk 2 to the north of Sukhumvit. Travel south along the Sukhumvit until you see The Village shopping centre on your right. Turn left at the traffic lights and pass over the railway track. The site for The Koral is a little way further along on the right before you reach Silk Road.
Building work is scheduled to start this year with an expected completion date in 2012.

Showroom in mall
The developers, River Life Residence, are serious about their marketing effort. In addition to all the street-side advertising the project has taken the unusual step (to me, at least) of setting up their showroom in a shopping mall – Central Festival on Beach Road. I’m used to seeing developers take displays in these malls. But the actual showroom? Well, I think it’s a brave and bold step.
Buyers who get in early can take advantage of low prices with a little more than Bt0.75m being the entry level for a one-bedroom apartment. There are also two-bedroom options.
In the early days a furniture and air conditioner package was being included. But that may have ceased by the time you read this. Best to check with the sales team which can be found on the 1st floor at Central Festival’s beachside entrance.
Other facilities on offer include a lagoon swimming pool which is almost 150 metres long, a hilly playground, marina walk, fitness area with steamroom and sauna plus there will be wi-fi Internet access. Ω
