Warm welcome at The One Villas

Plenty to eat and drink and a chance to look around the showhomes was on offer when The One Villas decided to host an open house party to officially launch the project in the middle of January.
Agents, prospective clients and members of the media gathered on the lawn next to the showhouse to celebrate the launch, writes John Davids.

Also among those invited was Englishman Nicholas Reuss who was the first person to move into the development. Towards the end of the evening he gave a short speech and expressed mixed sentiments in as much that he was full of praise for the project and encouraged people to buy there, but he joked that he “quite liked having the place to himself!”
Of course, that situation is not set to last long as interest in buying at the village is growing all the time.
The One Villas can be found by passing the Thai-Austrian Technical College that lies on the Sukhumvit south of Na-Jomtien and turning left at the big sign for the Budsaba Spa which can be found opposite the project.
The organisers were fortunate in that rain fell heavily for a brief time during the afternoon but it cleared to allow the party to go ahead.
The One Villas is one of two major housing projects being undertaken by the Bangkok-based Pacific Rim Rich Group. The other is Phuket’s Sujika Gardens, which is named after the wife of group chairman Siri Chomchan.
I spoke to Khun Siri (pictured on facing page with microphone in hand) about the project and his group of companies.
He told me that the thinking behind The One Villas was to provide a comprehensive service to foreigners seeking to live in Thailand. “Our aim is to make them happy,” he said. “We are always happy to include changes to the design provided people tell us what they want in advance.”
He added: “We hope to conclude building here in two years’ time.”
Of the group overall he said: “We are mainly a construction company working on government projects such as hospitals and schools. We also own a factory in Shanghai and have a trading company which deals mainly in machinery from Germany. Property projects such as The One Villas and Sujika Gardens only account for about 10 per cent of what we do.
“We are a private company and are funding this project ourselves. No banks are involved.”
The majority of the houses planned for The One Villas project will be pool villas with their own private swimming pool.
But now there will be an alternative as the developers plan nine garden villa style houses to enable buyers to have a home there at just under Bt5m.
The land will still be there should the owner choose to add a pool or even a spa pool later. Ω
