The Best Villa project is also a green winner

It is easy to see why The Village @ Horseshoe Point is a double award winner – it won best villa development on the Eastern Seaboard and a green award for the whole country at a ceremony held just before the end of 2009.
Put simply, it is a lovely community in which to live and it makes every effort to do things the right way with regard to the environment.
The positive environmental aspects are in evidence throughout the entire HSP project but just one example of it at The Village is that the sewage water goes through their own treatment plant and is recycled to irrigate the development.
I was shown around the project and it is a delight. It’s quiet, very quiet and water is featured everywhere throughout, writes John Davids.
The homes exude quality and great attention to detail is evident everywhere you look. Projects do not become double award winners for nothing.
I was shown a Villa Laguna which is arranged over two floors (see pictures on this spread). There is also a single floor Villa Aqua available which is shown overleaf on page 54.
The Laguna is big inside – some 260 sqm of usable space. Indeed, the master bedroom occupies all the top floor with two balconies (front and back) and a large en-suite and walk-in closet. All the built-in wardrobes come as standard, but loose or moveable furnishings do not.
The ground floor boasts a big living area, dining area, European kitchen and two bedrooms complemented by floor-to-ceiling windows. Outside is a pool, patio area and a car port suitable for two vehicles.
The other house type – the Aqua – has 170 sqm of usable space. It is a two-bedroom villa that has much overlap with the Laguna’s design, except, of course, it doesn’t have a master bedroom occupying an entire floor. Outside is a terrace and a pond area and double car port.

Clubhouse opening soon
The 113 tropical lagoon villas surround a pond which will soon have a clubhouse in the middle of it. During my visit last checks were being carried out on the fully-built clubhouse area and a “soft-launch” it planned any time about now.
The clubhouse has two pools – one for adults, the other for children. The kiddies’ pool has a small, sandy “beach” area next to it. There will be a snack bar there and separate ladies and gents steam and sauna areas. There will also be a jogging track around it for those looking to stay in shape.
Owners at The Village can enjoy discount privileges at the main Horseshoe Point hotel and resort and horse riding is readily available there.
The development has a couple of Rent-to-Own schemes to make it easier to own at The Village where prices start at Bt6.8m. Ω
