One of the major features of Iguana’s Park Lane development in Jomtien – apart from its very affordable prices – is now starting the take shape, writes John Davids.
Work has begun on the central pool area in the middle the four condominium blocks.
The overflow pool will now be bigger than its originally planned 1,800 sqm by up to 200 sqm.
The extension means that the water feature will now run outside the buildings as well as in the middle.
Managing director of the Iguana Group, Miki Haim, said: “Where the pool runs outside it will be as a water feature. People won’t actually be able to swim in those areas as the water will not be deep enough.
“Our aim is to make the
Park Lane development look good in every way possible and this is just part of achieving that goal.
“We are talking to several leading companies regarding the landscaping of the entire central area.”
Special area
The central area of the project looks like it’s going to be something special with its Jacuzzis and children’s pool. Also included is a restaurant and gym. It has already been concreted.
“Visitors can see the island starting to take shape,” said Miki, who is keen to recommend a site visit even though there is a complete one-bedroom showroom at their head office in Thrappraya Road.
“The showroom in our office is a little out of date now. We have upgraded many of the features such as the tiling and furniture since it was constructed.
Another upgrade is to the number of parking spaces which have been increased to ensure that the site receives its EIA environmental certificate.
“We did this as part of the ‘due diligence’ we seek on all our projects,” said Miki (see our September issue for more on the subject of due diligence).
Visitors still need to contact the Thrappraya Road office to arrange a look around the site as the three on-site showrooms are not constantly manned.
“We have examples of all three types of unit there – studio, one-bed and two-beds,” said Miki.
Construction progress
Apart from the pool, construction on the main buildings continues apace. Buildings 1 and 2 should be ready to move into at the end of the first quarter of the new year. All four blocks should be up and running early in 2011.
“Buildings 1, 2 and 3 are ahead of schedule,” said
Miki who added that work on Building 4 is due to start at the year end. “This will be early. We were not due to begin Building 4 until the new year,” Miki added.
Of the 600 units in the entire project 400 have already been sold and there is still some foreign ownership availability.
