......The new condominium project, Tudor Court on Pratamnak Hill Soi 2, has begun construction with all 200+ piles now being complete and the concrete bases beginning last month.
“We are so pleased,” said managing director Simon Ditchburn. “Despite all recent problems in Thailand, we are still going full steam ahead and are honouring our commitment to our buyers by beginning construction on time, as scheduled.”
The first phase started in November with a huge excavation that will provide the underground parking space for the project. After the hole was created, any further work was promptly halted as the skies opened and nearly three weeks of constant rain filled the dig with muddy water!
“We couldn’t believe it! The rainy season was supposed to finish in October and here we were, facing a huge delay and the site turning into a massive mud pile.”
Fortunately, the sun made its somewhat impeded return and the contractors made all haste clearing the site and beginning the drilling for the concrete piling.
Throughout December, the site was a hive of activity as the steel and concrete was placed into the piling holes and the retaining walls constructed.
As the Christmas and New Year holidays approached, many construction workers began to return to their respective hometowns so, naturally, the pace lessened, but not before the piling was complete.
“As we came up to Christmas, it was fantastic to see all the piling had been completed, again on schedule, and we could now look forward to raising the building from the ground level,” said Simon.
So, here we are in the new year and all the staff and labourers have returned – well, mostly, so what is next for Tudor Court?
Simon replied: “Well, my project manager has just completed the calculations for the steel and concrete costs and that is my next job – to place that order. Once it arrives, then we will see Tudor Court going up at a tremendous pace. This should help to increase any potential buyer’s confidence and will make our current investors and buyers very happy!” Ω
