......When someone coined with the adage “good things come in small packages”, the author must have had the Avatara Condominium in mind, writes John Davids.
The self-styled “hip” project can be found towards the southern end of Jomtien, just a couple of hundred metres past Soi 19 in an un-numbered soi with Avatara signs at its entrance. The building is just 50 metres from the beach itself.
The units are not small – they range from 58 sqm to 67.3 sqm – but they are small in number with just 30 apartments comprising the whole eight-storey block.
For the developers, Logans Thailand, Avatara represents their first venture into the Pattaya area. They enjoy great success in the Bangsaen and Mae Phim areas.

“We offer excellent facilities when compared to the overall size of the complex,” said Finnish-born sales manager Pasi Marjamaki, adding that there will also be a quiet library/Internet area on the first floor.
Given that the entire top floor is devoted to sport, fitness and relaxation it would be hard to argue with his assertion about facilities.
“Here we are away from the main hassle (of Pattaya itself) but still close to it,” he added.
Avatara is keen to welcome all ages and races of people, but it is true that many of Logans’ other projects have held strong appeal for buyers from Scandinavia where many of the company’s management team hail from.
“Our projects are popular with Scandinavians who keep the units as second homes,” said Pasi. He went on to say that there is a rental management company covering all Logan projects.
“Investors can expect higher returns thanks to this management company which rents the units out to holidaymakers for one- to four-week periods,” said Pasi. This brings in higher figures than if rented in six-month or one-year blocks and allows owners greater flexibility to visit when they wish to use the units themselves.
By the time this magazine is printed Logans hope to have two showrooms ready to view and the nice thing is that potential buyers will be able to see a showroom then immediately visit the unit they are interested in. No waiting two years for the block to be built.
Logans’ management regard this “see what you are getting” factor as a big plus in a time when confidence in the property market has taken a severe buffeting worldwide. Ω
