    What view!

......I am not very good with heights so confess that the prospect of going up in a builders’ cage lift to view progress at The Cove did not rank high on my wish list of things to do, writes John Davids.
However, I have to say that it was more than worth the effort of overcoming my vertigo.
Once I had got the “would it be braver to just say no?” thoughts out of my mind there was no turning back. In scenic lifts I usually face the control panel so I don’t have to look elsewhere. Here it didn’t matter where I looked there was no visual “escape” – I had to look out to sea, not down. It worked.
The views that greeted me upon reaching the 10th floor (the building has actually reached the 14th of the 17) were quite spectacular – as you can see from the pictures on this page.
The project sits in perfect position at Wong-Amat for great views in either direction, dependent on which side of the building investors buy into.
“Agents keen to do business with us are welcome to come to inspect progress,” said Jens Klein, sales and marketing manager of the developers, Petch Properties. “Work on cabling and the internal walls has already started on the lower levels and the entire structure should be complete within weeks.”
Given the large number of workers on site (I visited just as they were going for lunch) I have no reason to doubt it. Ω
